Book Body is a multi-format project that began as a contribution to the art book YOU SAY ART, I SAY WHAT? published by the German Board for Cultural Education. Instructional drawings guide readers through the exercises performed using the weight of the book. Transforming the utility of an object of knowledge into a piece of workout equipment engages the reader’s imagination, but not in the way one would expect. The drawings were transformed into both performance and an interactive video installation, in which the public can take part in a 10-minute workout in an exhibition space, in the comfort of their own home, or in their favourite library.
